Simple Avocado Kale Salad + Glowing Skin

Posted · Add Comment

People often ask me what I do for glowing skin.

They assume my answer will involve topical lotions, treatments, but the truth is, it’s all about what we put inside our bodies that gives us that glow, combined with a good moisturizing skin care regime.

Foods that hydrate, provide fiber and chlorophyll help detoxify the body, and improve digestion, which contribute to a clearer complexion.

Some examples are kale, spinach, and avocado.

Of course, I am not going to deny that I love good skincare products. I mostly use toxic-free and safe products on my face and body, I would say about 90% of the time.

I do have a couple products that are a little more hard-hitting when it comes to anti-aging -and they are not necessarily safe, but this girl is ok with a little balance to get the results I want!

So. In addition to my favorite creams, balms and oils (you can click on the links to see some of my absolute favorites), I LOVE a good massaged, kale avocado salad.

It is so easy, simple and full of the things that will make you glow from the inside out -and fill you up.

Greens? Yes. Healthy fats? Yes. Glowing skin? Yes.

Here’s the recipe.

Simple Avocado Kale Salad (2 large servings)

Kale

Romaine

1 Avocado

Juice of 1 lemon

Apple Cider Vinegar

Sea Salt

Ground pepper

Nutritional Yeast

Pumpkin seeds

In a large salad bowl:

Combine chopped romaine (or cabbage or even iceberg lettuce) with chopped kale (you can use either the curly or lacinitao kale) Fill the salad bowl to desired amount..

Take 1 avocado and slice open and cut into chunks and put on top of the greens.

Next, wash your hands. Now it’s time to literally massage the avocado into the greens so it is evenly distributed.

Add 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar, juice from half of a lemon, sea salt and ground pepper to taste, and pumpkins seeds.

Toss again and serve.

Sprinkle with nutritional yeast for added amino acids and B vitamins.

Done!

Serve with roasted sweet potatoes, or add an animal protein on top of your choice.
